Li Qingyun Scholarship

A team of fourteen former faculty members of the English Department, which included Professor Li Qingyun, collaborated on the compilation ofA Comprehensive Dictionary of English Idioms and Phrases.In June of 1997, they were remunerated 25,000 Yuan for the reprint of the dictionary, and used this money to set up a scholarship in the name of the late Professor Li Qingyun. Professor Li was the former head of the English Department and had worked here as a professor for 30 years. The scholarship is meant to encourage students to study and work hard.

Each year, a grant of 400,000 Yuan is distributed among the winners of this scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to one graduating doctoral student, two graduating master’s students (one esp. in the study of Lexicographical Studies), the top three scorers on the TEM-8 test, the top scorer on the TEM-4 test, and the top scorers in equivalent examinations for Japanese, French, Russian and German majors.

Foundation Established by students of 1977 of the English Department

This foundation was set up on April 5th, 2001 by a group of graduates entering this university in 1977. They established a scholarship with parts of the interests generated from the funds. The scholarship is awarded to seven students each year, and carries a prize of 1,500 Yuan for each recipient. In 2008, they increased the value of the scholarship, and now recognize students who excel in publicity, sports, arts, and public speaking as well.


Cai Yuming Scholarship

Mr. Cai Yuming, an alumnus of the college, set up this 50,000 Yuan scholarship. It is awarded to several outstanding Junior undergraduates that come from underprivileged families and who major in English, French, or Russian. It is given to creative students that are willing to devote themselves to the foreign language education.


Between 2005 and 2009, an annual grant of 10,000 Yuan was divided among recipients of this scholarship. In 2010, Mr. Cai provided another 100,000 Yuan for later applicants.

Zhao Zixun Academic and Culture Foundation

This academic merit scholarship was established by the family of Zhao Zixun, a former faculty member of the Foreign Languages Department at Xiamen University. His family set up the foundation at a value of HKD 800,000, and the revenue from the foundation is awarded to several outstanding students and devoted academics, as well as seven other students, each being awarded 1,500 Yuan. It also includes the winners of the top three prizes in provincial academic activities and five English Major freshmen who achieve high scores in the English test of the national college admission examination(Gaokao).

Scholarship and Grant Offered by English Majors Entering the College in 1989

In 2013, a group of graduates from the English Department set up this scholarship and grant for English undergraduates. 15,000 Yuan is shared by ten excellent English major undergraduates. Another 15,000 Yuan is shared amongst ten underprivileged students.



Grants Established by Class of 1989 of the Japanese Department

Ms. Ye Ping, who entered this college in 1989, of the Japanese Department, donated 50,000 Yuan to support five undergraduates majoring in Japanese studies each year, recipients to be awarded 2,000 Yuan each. This scholarship is also awarded to students who excel in academic studies and have never had bad records regarding school rules or regulations.

Scholarships and Grants Established by the Alumni Who Entered this College in 1986

In 2013, this scholarship was set up by the alumni who entered this college in 1986. It is awarded to three outstanding students each year and supports two financially underprivileged students.

Huatech Grant Fund

This scholarship was set up by Huatech, Inc. at a value of 300,000 Yuan to both support financially underprivileged students majoring in Russian and encourage innovation within the faculty.

One grant supports eight financially underprivileged undergraduates each year, awarding them with 3,000 Yuan each. The other recipients include two financially underprivileged undergraduates who plan to study overseas, each to receive 6,000 Yuan. An applicant cannot obtain both grants at the same time.

In addition, the fund grants include 14,000 Yuan, which is to be used to support Russian teaching reform and scientific research, as well as encourage academics to strive for innovation in Russian teaching and research.




Hua Can Grant

This grant was set up by the vice-dean of the College Li Meihua and her husband, with the goal of supporting six financially underprivileged freshman undergraduates.


Grün Scholarship and Grant for German Majors

Mrs. Pang Ronghua set up this scholarship and grant for undergraduate freshmen majoring in German studies. Each year, it is awarded to two financially underprivileged freshmen and three outstanding undergraduates at the opening ceremony, and each for a prize of 2,000 Yuan.


An Qi Scholarship

This scholarship was set up by Lin Shaohua, an alumnus of the College. It is awarded to two undergraduates and two English postgraduates each year. Recipients receive 1,000 Yuan each.


Chengfeng International Scholarship

This scholarship was set up by Chengfeng Furniture Co., Ltd. It is awarded to three undergraduates each year and 1,000 Yuan for each.


Chengde Tengfei Scholarship

This scholarship was set up for both undergraduates and postgraduates. It is awarded to two students each year with 1,000 Yuan for each.

Guang Hui Scholarship

This scholarship was set up by Nanjing Sun Ground Co., Ltd, and it is awarded to three undergraduates each year and with 1,000 Yuan for each.


Hebei Guolong Scholarship

This scholarship, set up by Mr. Wang Lin, is awarded to two undergraduates each year and with 1,000 Yuan for each.


Li Lingjun Scholarship

This scholarship, established by Mr. Li Lingjun, is awarded to three undergraduates each year and with 1,000 Yuan for each.


Smart Art Scholarship

This scholarship, set up by Mr. Li Cheng, is awarded to three outstanding undergraduates each year and with 1,000 Yuan for each.

Tang Xin Scholarship

This scholarship, set up by Mr. Tang Xin, is awarded to three undergraduates each year and with 1,000 Yuan for each.

Xue Zhi Yuan Scholarship

This scholarship, set up by Xue Zhi Yuan Technology and Development Co., Ltd, is awarded to three students each year (including both undergraduates and postgraduates). Recipients receive 1,000 Yuan each.


Education Funds Established by Alumni of 1990

This scholarship was set up by Mr. Lai Jingfeng, Mr. Su Yongjun, and Mr. Lai Zheng. Each contributes 2,000 Yuan per year, for a total of 6,000 Yuan. It is awarded to six excellent students annually and with 1,000 Yuan for each student.


Little Kongming Scholarship

This scholarship was set up by the Little Kongming Kindergarten in Siming District, Xiamen. It is awarded to four outstanding students each year and with 1,000 Yuan for each.
